Lionel Beehner reports on Google-obsessed writers in an article on mediabistro.com.
Does a large number of search results on Google bestow bragging rights?
Lionel makes the case that writers may be relying too much on Google, but doesn't seem to grant any room for sarcasm. Does the public really think that Dean is more popular than Kerry because there are more google hits? Is "e" your favorite letter because it appears the most in the English Language?
I remember some type of google war engine around before, comparing hits on various search terms... in any case... Wicked Banker conducts its own ad hoc test:
Google search results for "Victoria's Secret": 175,000
Google search results for "wardrobe malfunction": 27,300
The tribe has spoken.
(NOTE: Yahoo's new search engine is now active.)
